Trees Across Raleigh,
Inc.
Trees Across Raleigh is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving
the City of Raleigh's appearance, fostering greater community pride, and
promoting economic development by planting trees throughout the city.
Our volunteers plant trees in public rights-of-way, along public medians,
and in public parks.
Trees Across Raleigh was first launched in June 1996, after Hurricane
Fran destroyed so many of the citys trees. Since then, over 3500
volunteers have planted more than 7000 trees in public rights-of-way,
medians, and parks at a value of over $830,000.
Previous Trees Across Raleigh plantings have improved the appearance
of Glenwood Avenue near Five Points, New Bern Avenue near Wake Medical
Center, Millbrook Exchange Park, Fletcher Park, Chavis Park, Marsh Creek
Park, Method Road Park, and Biltmore Park.
Volunteers are needed to assist in the planting and clean-up efforts.
Anyone interested in volunteering should wear old clothes and gloves.
The organization's veteran planters will teach the proper planting method
